Overview: The Director of Process Improvement will identify, assign and manage projects to the Process Improvement team and act as a point person on all projects. Ensure coordination of projects with the Project Management Team to ensure alignment with corporate/business goals. Lead the Process Improvement team in identifying current and future design of enterprise processes and develop the understanding of deployment methods, culture impact and training needs. Manage the Process Improvement staff, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Design and implement work plans to support the current and future work demands and project deliverables.

Define, measure, analyze, improve, control, develop, and launch efficient business process improvement opportunities across all functional areas within the organization. Research, gather and analyze data in support of these business functions, process knowledge, business cases, and proposed projects. Responsible for generating and compiling reports based on findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to issues, recommend improvements to new requirements for business processes, operational procedures, or IT system applications. Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of the process implementations and investment needed to support the process functionality.

Responsibilities: - Manage the Process Improvement team in identifying process design (flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training and defining support procedures.

- Collaborate on the formulation and defining of project scope and objectives through research, fact finding and understanding of business requirements and best practices.

- Apply communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide the Process Improvement team on issues related to the analysis, design, development, and deployment of defined processes.

- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed projects to aid management in making selection and implementation decisions.

- Coach the team to initiate and present the right questions to gain insight into the business issues and needed resolutions.

- Provide direction and coaching on project specific tasks as well as individual professional goals and development.

- Manage the process and validate the quality of deliverables produced by the team.

- Liaise with users and members of functional areas to facilitate needs analysis, operating procedures and business process improvements.

- Manage Process Improvement team staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

- Assist in the development of RFP’s, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports and other documentation for application projects and associated efforts, as needed.

- Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the process improvement area.

- Monitor internal and external environments for development of new business processes.

- Support and improve communication and transition coordination with all departments

- Chart existing business processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models.

- Prototype new procedures for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations and information process flow.

- Develop, standardize, and maintain new or improved processes based on findings and analysis.

- Develop budgets and timeframes for process changes in order to support company objectives.

- Capture the tactical and strategic business goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.

- Define the data elements shared between business units in the enterprise and the relationships between those data elements and how processes, people, systems, affect these data elements.

- Enumerate, analyze, and suggest improvements to the structural relationships of the business. This requires the creation and maintenance of an ongoing model of roles, capabilities and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the interplay between these units in various business processes, materials, people, and systems.

- Research, review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems and processes

- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems and processes across the organization.

- Communicate and present process changes, enhancements and modifications to management, peers, staff and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.

- Bridge communications between Business and Technical.

- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other post-implementation support.

- Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.

- Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Masters preferred

- Experience Level: 10+ years experience business operations, business analysis, business process reengineering concepts and methods

- Tools and Technology: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, reporting/query tools

- Certificates and Licenses: Certified Business Analyst (CBA) or Project Management (PMI) or Lean Six Sigma/BPM training preferred but not required

- Work Environment: Office environment with the potential for frequent travel at around 50% to: correctional facilities, regional offices, Client and/or vendor sites. Subject to on-call or after-hours work to resolve problems or meet implementation deadlines.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to work on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variance factors.
